About The Position

This role is responsible for repairing molds used in the making of vinyl handles to ensure they are in proper and usable condition. The position involves hands-on repair work, data entry, and transportation of molds.

Requirements

• One to three months of related experience or on-the-job training.
• Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day.
• Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must have good peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on work.
• Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high noise levels, vibration to hands, and extreme heat.
• Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions, including maintenance instructions.
• Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Straighten and clean all molds and replace worn or broken pins. This process may include sandblasting and drilling.
• Clean and date stamp end caps to keep them current.
• Transport molds needing most extensive repair (i.e. grinding or machining) to Machine shop and notify Foreman of unserviceable or un-repairable molds.
• Transports molds to and from specific production areas.
• Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
