About The Position
Anne Arundel Dermatology, in affiliation with Knoxville Dermatology Group, is seeking a Mohs Surgical Assistant NP/PA to join their surgical dermatology team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, open to both experienced providers and new graduates interested in surgical dermatology. The Mohs Surgical Assistant NP/PA works closely with and assists the Mohs Surgeon in a high-volume surgical dermatology setting. This role involves supporting a wide range of diagnostic and procedural activities. Requirements
- NP or PA with a strong interest in surgical dermatology and Mohs procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients and team members
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized with strong follow-through and accountability
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active and unrestricted Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
Nice To Haves
- Prior surgical dermatology or procedural experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Interest in developing advanced surgical and procedural skills within a high-volume Mohs setting
Responsibilities
- Assist the Mohs Surgeon with surgical procedures including patient preparation, local anesthesia, and intraoperative support
- Perform wound closures including suturing and basic reconstructive techniques
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care including patient education and follow-up
- Perform or support dermatologic surgical and diagnostic procedures in a high-volume Mohs setting
- Support efficient surgical workflow and patient throughput in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Collaborate with clinical support staff to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency
- Serve as a patient advocate and educator throughout the surgical process
