About The Position

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is seeking a Mohs Medical Assistant with strong customer service and clinical skills to support dermatology and aesthetic services. The role assists with Mohs surgery and other surgical procedures, supports physicians in caring for surgery patients, and completes related clinical and administrative tasks. The position is based in Wyandotte, Michigan. Requirements

• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of vital signs.
• Working knowledge of dermatologic surgery and sterile technique.
• Ability to work as a team player and dedication to patient care.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Surgical or Mohs experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures, including Mohs surgery and surgical excisions.
• Assist the physician in providing quality care to surgery patients.
• Maintain patient medical records.
• Review patients’ medical histories.
• Obtain appropriate consents.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Perform patient call-backs.
• Assist with scheduling surgeries and administrative tasks.
• Screen patients and employees upon entry, as needed.
• Check patients in and out, as needed.
• Room patients and follow social distancing guidelines, as needed.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Sanitize and clean assigned areas as needed.
