About The Position

The Mohs Histotechnician plays a vital role in supporting the Mohs surgeon by ensuring accurate and efficient preparation of tissue specimens. This includes assisting with specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and maintaining a clean and well-functioning laboratory environment. This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care and operational excellence.

Requirements

24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours in science courses, with at least 6 hours in chemistry, 6 hours in biology, and 12 hours in a combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
Associate degree in chemical or biological sciences or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Completion of 60 semester hours (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Mohs procedures.
Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP).
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory equipment operation.
