About The Position

QualDerm Partners LLC delivers exceptional clinical care and an outstanding patient experience throughout the entire patient journey. The Raleigh, NC team of board-certified dermatology specialists focuses on comprehensive medical dermatology, skin cancer detection and treatment, and related dermatologic services. With a supportive, family-like culture, we prioritize patient care and satisfaction at every interaction. This position is exclusively for Fridays and requires a skilled Mohs Histotech to provide expert histotechnology services in support of Mohs micrographic surgery. The role includes preparation, staining, and quality control of tissue specimens while working closely with dermatologic surgeons.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology or related field.
  • Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred.
  • Previous experience with Mohs histotechnology is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently during Friday shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with the clinical team.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • Previous experience with Mohs histotechnology

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and section frozen tissue specimens utilizing Mohs surgical techniques specifically on Fridays.
  • Perform histological staining and slide preparation with precision and adherence to laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain quality control and ensure accurate documentation of all procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot as needed during Friday shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards (CLIA, OSHA).
  • Maintain a clean, sterile work environment and proper tissue disposal.
  • Participate in continuing education and training specific to Mohs histotechnology.
