Driver with CDL - Moffet Driver
About The Position
The Moffett Driver safely and efficiently delivers building materials to customer job sites using a CDL vehicle and truck-mounted forklift. The role involves unloading and placing materials at job sites, including locations without traditional dock access, while providing strong customer service. It also includes inspecting equipment, maintaining delivery paperwork and DOT-compliant logs, communicating with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers, following safety procedures, and assisting with warehouse operations as needed. This position follows local daytime routes, with drivers home daily. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential overtime during peak periods. Work takes place in warehouse and outdoor job-site environments and involves varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B license.
- A1C Hoisting License.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR checks.
- Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Forklift operating experience; Moffett experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong safety awareness and equipment-handling skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50–100 pounds.
- Ability to bend frequently, lift, and secure loads.
- Ability to enter and exit the truck cab and work safely on job sites.
- Subject to criminal background, motor vehicle record, DOT Safety Performance History, and full FMCSA Clearinghouse query checks.
- Ability to drive in varying weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience operating a Moffett or truck-mounted forklift.
- Experience delivering building materials or working in construction supply.
- OSHA 10 certification (required on some job sites).
- Forklift certification.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL Class A or B vehicle to deliver materials to customer job sites.
- Operate a Moffett truck-mounted forklift to unload and place materials safely and efficiently.
- Deliver materials to ground-level or designated job-site areas where forklift operation is required.
- Load, secure, transport, and protect materials from damage during transit.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the truck and Moffett equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and DOT-compliant logs.
- Communicate with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers regarding delivery instructions.
- Follow safety procedures, including PPE use and maintaining safe delivery zones.
- Assist with warehouse operations, staging, and loading when needed.
