About The Position

Comfort Systems USA (Texas), L.P. is seeking a Modular Productivity Engineer to design and develop custom software tools to streamline modular manufacturing virtual design workflows. This role involves collaborating with virtual design professionals, ensuring tool compatibility, and seeking opportunities for innovation and automation in modular solutions. The engineer will work with Building Information Modeling leads to identify gaps and advance the technical offering from a design and engineering perspective. Responsibilities include developing and conducting training sessions, providing expert support on volumetric modular projects, and assisting with troubleshooting design challenges. The role also supports volumetric manufacturing operating companies with model-based manufacturing processes, production increases, and data leverage for production, procurement, tracking, and analysis. A key aspect is consolidating feedback from leaders across operating companies to co-develop a catalog of repeatable products, subassemblies, and components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field of study and 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 cloud based construction management systems (3 years).
  • Demonstrated experience with Revit (3 years).
  • Demonstrated experience with Navisworks (3 years).
  • Demonstrated experience with Model Coordination in ACC and BIM 360 (1 year).
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI and Power Query (1 year).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a 1 year plan based on people, processes and technology (1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom software tools to streamline modular manufacturing virtual design workflows.
  • Collaborate with virtual design professionals to identify needs and integrate feedback into tool enhancements.
  • Ensure compatibility and integration of new tools with existing virtual design platforms.
  • Seek opportunities to innovate, automate and improve modular solutions.
  • Work with Building Information Modeling leads to understand gaps where tools and innovative approaches can advance technical offering from a design and engineering perspective.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for virtual design professionals on new tools and best practices.
  • Provide expert support to design professionals on volumetric modular projects.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design challenges specific to modular manufacturing.
  • Assist volumetric manufacturing operating companies with model-based manufacturing processes, increase production, and leverage data for production, procurement, tracking and data analysis.
  • Consolidate feedback from leaders at multiple operating companies to recommend and co-develop a coherent catalog of repeatable products, subassemblies and components that may serve multiple sites, projects, and even functional use cases.
