About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Modular Construction worker to work on our 3rd Shift at our Thompson South location. The hours are 7:00 pm to 5:30 am., Sunday – Friday, with overtime as required on weekends as needed for production. Miller Industries designs, engineers, and manufactures custom products in Fenton and Burton, Michigan, with additional engineering support in El Paso, Texas. The divisions of our business include Miller Fabricated Systems, Flex Air, Miller Industries Representatives, and our MI Service Group. Together, we have the capabilities to provide our customers with custom steel fabrication, custom commercial and industrial HVAC systems, and various modular mechanical and electrical systems. Over the years, we have been a primary supplier to automotive, healthcare, institutional, and semiconductor manufacturers worldwide. Requirements

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • 2+ years of experience as a skilled carpenter, drywall technician, framer, or general laborer required.
  • Experience working with different carpentry materials, and understanding of carpentry techniques/methods of installation construction.
  • Good understanding of basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights including ladders, lifts, and rooftops.
  • Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties.
  • Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds.
  • Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, plastics, drywall and composites of multiple materials.
  • Measure and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Supervisor.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as tape measures, levels, framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Fit and install windows and doors.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
