About The Position

The Greece Central School District is seeking a Modified Indoor Track Coach for the Winter 2026-2027 season. The district values a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity with excellence, and seeks stakeholders who can collaborate to ensure policies, regulations, practices, programs, and services promote these values. The coach will be responsible for developing and managing a strong grade 7-12 athletic program, overseeing in-season and off-season conditioning, expanding community feeder programs, developing a unified coaching staff, and emphasizing academics, sportsmanship, and chemical-free participation. Encouraging multiple sport participation by team members is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • A valid New York State teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12) or another classroom subject area, a Professional Coaching Certificate, or eligibility for a Temporary Coaching License.
  • Valid and acceptable First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates for coaches at the time of appointment.
  • Completion of the following coursework prior to appointment: Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse, SAVE, DASA, Concussion.
  • Willingness to enroll in and complete the Coaching Course Options within the first two years of coaching.
  • All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYS Education Department before employment begins.
  • Responsibility for the fingerprinting fee of $102.00.

  • Years of overall coaching experience.
  • Years of coaching experience in a specific sport.
  • Years of coaching experience at various levels (Youth Organizations, Modified, Junior Varsity and/or Varsity).
  • Performance in previous coaching positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with students and parents.

Responsibilities
