Modern Languages Internship Spring 2026
About The Position
This internship provides TESOL students with the opportunity to teach English as a foreign language to students overseas. They will be able to teach students located in China and Egypt. Every student will teach one class every week. They will gain a beneficial experience by teaching students from two different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Students will have the opportunity to apply what they learn in the TESOL program to a real world teaching experience under the supervision of two TESOL faculty members. Most of the Arabic speaking students they will teach were displaced from war. This offers our students the chance to learn how to teach vulnerable students impacted by trauma. It will prepare students to teach a similar population of students in the US or overseas. Requirements
- Must be a SUNY Cortland Student
- TESOL majors
- Good academic standing
- Strong communication skills
