About The Position

Join Apple's Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems (WTE) team and help deliver the most power-efficient cellular devices in the world. As a Modem Software Power Engineer, you will be at the forefront of defining and optimizing the power performance of Apple's next-generation cellular modems. You will focus on power modeling, deep system analysis, and lab automation, ensuring our devices deliver incredible battery life while maintaining exceptional 5G and LTE performance. Requirements

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3 - 5+ years of industry experience in power modeling, power analysis, or systems engineering.
  • Direct experience optimizing power for baseband processors or RF transceivers.
  • Deep understanding of cellular 3GPP standards relating to 5G NR and LTE.
  • Demonstrated experience with higher-layer protocols such as TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

  • System-level power modeling and analysis for cellular modems.
  • Develop detailed power models to predict, analyze, and track power consumption.
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks to measure and validate power KPIs.
  • Identify power bottlenecks, propose architectural optimizations, and develop/tune SW power features.
  • Explore and integrate AI and machine learning methodologies for power modeling and optimization.
  • Drive power reduction initiatives from early architecture phases through final product launch.
