About The Position

The Modeling and Simulation Engineer III will support product development through the integration of simulation tools. This role will define and validate system-level requirements of mechanical systems, develop and execute simulation plans, correlate virtual models with physical test data, and assess system performance against program objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with simulation tools and co-simulation.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more MBD tools such as Adams, MotionSolve, Simscape Multibody, Simpack, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of 1-D simulation tools (Simscape, Dymola, AmeSim)
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, CLI or similar tools
  • Understanding of control systems.
  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink
  • Knowledge of Desing of Experiments (DOE) methods, and data interpretation.
  • Ability to process and analyze test data using signal-processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition (DAQ) systems and mechanical system instrumentation.
  • Capability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend improvements to engineering processes and workflows
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication across multiple platforms (Microsoft Teams, email, phone, messaging)
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and accountability for deliverables
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and performance analysis of programs using virtual analysis workflows and co-simulation tools to meet technical requirements and program timing.
  • Drive innovation in virtual simulation tools and methods.
  • Architect, develop and execute virtual models capable of integrating hardware and software for a wide variety of mechanical systems.
  • Develop and integrate multi-physics simulation tools (multi-body dynamics, 1-D hydraulics, controls, etc) to calibrate and validate software and hardware.
  • Create and deploy functional mock-up units, FMUs, and other reduced-order or interface models for use by cross-functional teams.
  • Develop durability requirements, load cases, acceptance criteria, and verification plans for components and systems.
  • Build, run, and correlate rigid and flexible multibody dynamics models to predict loads, damage, motions, and other performance metrics.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, test, materials, and systems teams to improve durability performance and close gaps between requirements, analysis, and validation.
  • Document assumptions, methods, correlation results, and engineering recommendations.
  • Generate clear, concise technical reports and effectively communicate findings to internal teams and customers
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while driving progress across multidisciplinary teams

Benefits
