The Modeling and Simulation Analyst reports to the MSTP Program Manager and receives work direction derivatives from the Modeling and Simulation Section Lead. This role involves operating, providing instruction, and maintaining computer-based training for simulations/models across various military domains including Maneuver, Aviation, Logistics, Fires, and Military Intelligence Operations. The analyst will research documents for factual data, analyze functional areas to identify strengths and weaknesses during simulations, and edit doctrinal manuscripts. A key responsibility is translating real-world or fictional force structures into simulation databases and conducting pre-event tests and evaluations. The position requires attending conferences and meetings, participating in training events and exercises, and advising response cell members on simulation implementation. Additionally, the analyst will provide training on MTWS, conduct post-event critiques, analyze emerging simulation technologies, and document simulation properties relevant to Marine Corps or Joint training. The role also includes training on new models/simulations or upgrades and assisting government counterparts. Other related duties incidental to the work described may also be assigned.
