About The Position

As a systems engineer for the Tactical Control System program, you’ll be a member of an agile cross functional team responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced submarine systems in support of the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy fleets. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and the engineering process.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle more complex assignments as experience progresses.
  • Ability to clearly convey concepts and ideas using written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound systems engineering design.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Agile programs, Agile methodologies, and working on a sprint team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience independently executing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and support analysis of system design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and MagicDraw

Responsibilities

  • Developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced submarine systems in support of the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy fleets.
  • Independently executing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and support analysis of system design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and MagicDraw.
  • Drafting system requirements in accordance with good requirement practice.
  • Conducting research on technical implementation and challenges and utilizing information gathered to develop solutions and design for complex assignments.
  • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment, and professionally executes projects with assistance from lead and deputy systems engineers.
