About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to assist government customers with migrating legacy modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tools, algorithms, applications, and processes pertaining to missile performance analyses into a cloud-native Digital Engineering (DE) pipeline in a phased approach. The primary phase involves creating, updating, and refactoring model-based systems engineering (MBSE) models and libraries representing a full end-to-end missile model. These models must be created in SysML and minimally include requirements (e.g. CEP), structures (e.g. mass moments of inertia), and parametric characteristics (e.g. specific impulse).

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in systems engineering or related experience.
• Proven experience applying model-based systems engineering to aerospace, mechanical or related engineering fields.
• Creating MBSE models via the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or other MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw).
• Having an MBSE certification and training (e.g. OMG, INCOSE, etc.).
• Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers to identify modelling requirements.
• Demonstrated conscientious and collaborative work habits to help our customers adopt MBSE for missile performance analyses.
• Active TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) eligibility and a CI POLY
• U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions.

Nice To Haves

• 3 or more years of experience applying SysML for aerospace engineering applications such as the design of rocket propulsion systems, phased array antenna sensor systems, etc.

Responsibilities

• Scoping the effort of hosting a single missile model in SysML using existing engineering data analyses with our customers’ subject matter experts.
• Creating a scalable workflow for generating new missile models in SysML.
• Applying and testing that scalable workflow on a single missile model.
• Constructively working with our customers to optimize the SysML model development workflow.
