About The Position

KBR is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to join their National Security Solutions team in El Segundo, CA. This team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on protecting national security. The role involves designing and optimizing defense systems that ensure national security and shape the future of space defense within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Requirements

• An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace.
• 5+ years of applied experience using Model-based System Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SPARX or CAMEO.
• Independent problem solving with a variety of mission architecture systems engineering abilities, including knowledge and experience in requirements development and analysis.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and program stakeholders and have robust written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with classified programs.
• Mission Engineering experience is a plus.
• Experience in Space system design, development, production and acquisition.
• Experience with technical mentorship.
• Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Level 1 and 2.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and develop products in Working Groups that address the design/development, production, and integration of Space Control systems.
• Build an understand of the adversarial threats-based kill chains facing US space assets.
• Facilitate/develop/present resolution of issues related to system-of-systems integration.
• Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements for Space Control programs.
• Perform cross-mission area architecture development through the identification of potential synergies and efficiencies across multiple mission areas based off of existing roadmaps and SSC Program Directorate-developed architectures.
• Evaluate and characterize the known trade-space and ensure requirements mapping of newly developed enterprise-level cross-mission area architectures.
• Develop candidate architectures that resolve common functions into common/enterprise solutions and reduce the cost associated with acquiring and maintaining multiple systems to achieve the same function.
• Collect, analyze, and report on data collected during system-of-systems integration events.
• Develop MBSE models at all levels using Cameo and/or Sparx.
