About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Mobility Technician for our Acute Care Therapy team who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Mobility Technician, you will perform functional assessments on all admissions, orient patients/family members to the organization, and provide Mobility type activities as delegated by the Manager (Prospective Payment System - PPS) and Nurse Manager. This includes documentation of FIM and quality indicator documentation in performance improvement projects. You will also perform direct patient care tasks as established and delegated by the Licensed Registered Nurse, limited to non-invasive procedures, including activities of daily living, transfers, and mobility. Additionally, you will perform various tasks as competency documentation designates, including EKGs, bladder scans, blood draws, and specimen collection, and communicate with the RN any variations or critical values. Other specific duties may vary by area of assignment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Prior experience with FIM and quality indicator knowledge and application
  • Knowledge and application of transfer techniques
  • Active Maryland CNA license required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
