This job is located in the Mobility Management Division of the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority dba EMBARK. Employees of this classification perform work of a specialized nature involving skills, knowledge and abilities, which are normally acquired prior to assuming the position. The position is responsible for supporting a workforce development program by assisting participants in navigating the transportation landscape, identifying options for transportation services, and utilizing public transportation to support career development. Essential job function include: Working with web and application-based transportation scheduling software Onboarding program participants and scheduling transportation Providing transportation orientations and travel training Participating in outreach events Preparing and presenting program orientations using PowerPoint or other presentation tools Assisting participants with trip planning and navigating the city effectively Frequent collaboration with case managers and job developers The successful candidate must adapt to the stress involved in working with a large client base, solving emergent problems, and responding to urgent situations Tact, confidentiality, and diplomacy are required when communicating with employees, social service providers, and the public This position is expected to make decisions concerning priorities, sequence of events, and procedures to be followed Other duties include but are not limited to the maintenance of office records, logs, or work aids (and/or maps/scheduling and routing software) used by the employee The Transportation Navigator will use scheduling software, office records, data files, and maps as necessary to schedule transportation, trouble-shoot transportation problems, and communicate detailed information to program participants and social service providers as required This employee works independently, following prescribed procedures with only unusual situations referred to a supervisor Work is reviewed through client’s satisfaction, performance metrics, and appraisal by the supervisor Work involves various clerical tasks using a personal computer to access a variety of computer software packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite. The employee will also use an office copier and communicate with other administrative and supervisory personnel via email
