About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Mobile Ultrasound Technician to join our team. This role involves traveling within a designated geographic area to perform general and vascular ultrasound scans for patients residing in healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary licensure, certifications, and expertise to conduct examinations independently and with precision. This position requires professionalism, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a PRN position, requiring 2-3 days a week as needed, with flexibility for AM or PM availability (operating hours are usually 8:00 am-4:30 pm). Occasional Saturday support may be required, with flexibility on days/hours worked based on availability. The role offers hourly pay based on experience and tenure, paid training, a company vehicle/gas card or mileage reimbursement, and all necessary equipment. The position is mobile, involving travel to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and patient homes within a territory (primarily San Antonio). Experience in general/vascular or echo/vascular ultrasound is required.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of 1 year of scanning experience (2–3 years preferred).
  • ARDMS (Abdomen or Vascular) certification preferred.
  • Ability to perform a variety of general and vascular examinations.
  • Comfortable writing a technical impression of each finding.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods while performing patient services.
  • Comfortable driving for extended stretches to various patient locations up to 200+ miles per day.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under high-stress situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to scheduling changes and varying patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and answer any questions they may have.
  • Perform general and vascular ultrasound scans to assess and identify areas of concern.
  • Notify appropriate medical staff immediately of any abnormalities requiring urgent attention.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or issues.
  • Upload completed studies into the online PACS system and accurately mark records as complete.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical impression reports summarizing findings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all examination results.
  • Manage multiple patients efficiently while adapting to a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with team members as needed.
