Mobile Truck Technician / Mechanic
About The Position
Pape’ Kenworth is seeking a Mobile Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team in Federal Way, WA. This role involves working in the field at customer locations on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring repairs are done accurately and timely to maximize customer uptime. The technician will analyze and diagnose truck malfunctions, repair or rebuild various truck systems, and maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability and extend vehicle life. The position requires technical expertise, critical thinking under pressure, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high standards of safety and quality.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Ability to work under little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Must provide own tools.
- Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
- Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
- Class A CDL preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work in the field at customer locations on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks.
- Ensure repairs are done accurately and timely.
- Analyze and diagnose truck malfunctions or system failures.
- Determine the best course of action to return the truck to peak performance.
- Repair or rebuild cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, or air systems.
- Maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and extend the life of each vehicle.
- Deliver work that meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
