About The Position

Troubleshoot repairs, and maintains industrial trucks, trailers, wire pulling, and construction equipment used for electrical construction projects in Hooper’s service area. This role offers great perks such as overtime, a company truck and provided tools, along with a generous benefits package. Additionally, this is a union position therefore the pay and benefits will come through at the union rates.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Maintain a class A CDL in good standing including a federal medical card free of restrictions.
Ability to make decisions without close supervision.
Ability to climb ladders and steps and work on equipment surfaces.
Ability to travel and work outside at all times of the year.
Physically demanding position. Requires continuous standing, walking, and lifting. Requires lifting materials on a regular basis and frequent twisting, bending, and turning.
Familiarity with basics of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively with field staff and management.

Nice To Haves

Completion of diesel tech school program preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial trucks, trailers, wire pulling, and construction equipment.
Diagnose problems, make repairs, and perform preventive maintenance on major truck systems including diesel and gas engines.
Work with hydraulic systems and electrical schematics.
Operate a variety of equipment including dozers, backhoes, skid steers, and cranes.
Understand and comply with FMCSA and DOT inspection requirements and regulations.
Operate basic shop tools including welders, cutting torches, and air tools.
Fabricate with steel.
Complete detailed written repair orders accounting for labor and parts.
Keep logs and records of all maintenance functions.
Understand and practice workplace safety.
