About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician to diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 8 trailers during mobile road calls and in-yard work. The role includes preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, system testing, parts sourcing, service truck inventory management, repair-order documentation, and customer communication. Technicians use a company device to complete work orders and inspection documentation. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience repairing commercial Class 8 trailers.
Experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and no suspensions.
Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
Comfortable using computers for billing and work orders.
Ability to follow verbal and written work orders to manage daily repairs.
Self-motivated, with excellent organization and planning skills.

Nice To Haves

Stick-welding experience.
Own tools.
Certifications are a plus, including EPA 608, EPA 609, Universal, and ASE.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 8 trailer brake, electrical, hydraulic, lift-gate, and suspension systems.
Perform trailer patchwork and minor structural repairs as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace tires, hubs, axles, and other parts.
Write work orders and open and close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
Test systems and ensure trailers meet DOT safety requirements.
Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
Provide strong customer service and report findings to management.
Explain diagnoses over the phone and help customers decide next steps for repairs.
