Mobile Tire Technician
About The Position
Southern Tire Mart is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobile Tire Technician to join our team. This role involves responding to roadside and on-site service calls in a fully equipped service truck. You will be responsible for the mounting, dismounting, balancing, and repair of all tire types, including passenger, light truck, commercial truck, and industrial. The position also requires diagnosing and repairing tire-related issues, performing light mechanical repairs, and conducting fleet inspections and preventative maintenance. You will utilize tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and other diagnostic tools, while ensuring the service truck, tools, and equipment are maintained in safe operating condition. Adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws is crucial. Exceptional customer service, including clear communication, is expected. Additionally, you may assist with warehouse or shop duties when not actively on service calls.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
- Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
- Possible overtime may be required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
- Mount, dismount, balance, and repair all types of tires, including passenger, light truck, commercial truck, and industrial.
- Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.
- Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
- Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.
- Operate tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and other diagnostic tools.
- Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including clear communication of service details and timelines.
- Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.
