About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is seeking a Mobile Technician for their Service Department. VVG is a premium commercial truck dealership offering a full-service experience. This role involves conducting preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and equipment using a service truck, often in challenging conditions. The technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing breakdowns, performing tire services, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining records, and managing costs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Class B license.
Must have a basic set of hand tools up to 1 ½” and ½ drive pneumatics.
Technical understanding with attention to detail.
Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
Capable of maintaining accurate inventory control.
Ability to implement a strong safety environment at all times.
Ability to work alone with little or no direction at times.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and background check.

Nice To Haves

Post-Secondary vocational education strongly preferred.
Experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field.
Fleet and mobile maintenance experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Conducting comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and equipment.
Operating a service truck to perform on-site inspections.
Diagnosing and addressing vehicle breakdowns.
Replacing and adjusting worn or damaged components.
Verifying repairs through test drives.
Performing tire services, including replacements and rotations.
Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintaining meticulous vehicle records.
Managing costs effectively by utilizing warranties and evaluating service options.
Maintaining the service truck to standard, including cleanliness and resupply.
