About The Position

Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of trucks or equipment in the shop or field environment, while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity and customer satisfaction. This role involves completing preventative maintenance on commercial truck units, using OEM software and tools for diagnosis and repair, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position also requires adherence to safety protocols and strong communication skills with customers regarding scheduling, estimates, and updates.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of diesel technician work is required.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulic systems and off-road equipment and components.
  • Must have computer experience including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Cummins engine experience (Preferred)
  • Allison & Eaton transmission experience (Preferred)
  • Vocational school is a benefit but not required.
  • Manufacturer training and/or technical school plus solid professional diesel technician experience, typically 3-5 years, with developing diagnostic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills are preferred.
  • Allison and Eaton transmission experience (preferred)
  • Cummins engine experience (preferred)
  • International Truck diagnostic and repair experience (preferred but we provide).
  • CDL Class A or B (preferred)
  • Forklift Training Certification (preferred but we offer)
  • ASE Certifications (preferred)
  • International Certification (preferred but we offer)

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance on commercial truck units ranging from medium/heavy duty pick-ups to class 8 vehicles.
  • Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, and complete repairs to promptly address and resolve customer vehicle or equipment concerns.
  • Keep a clean and organized work truck and work area in line with Lilley and International standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including but not limited to the use of PPE.
  • Perform mobile maintenance work on weekdays and some weekends.
  • Maintain strong communication skills with customers including scheduling, creating rough estimates, and post-work updates.
