Hydraulic Hose Installation Technician
About The Position
PIRTEK Beaverton is seeking a mechanically inclined technician to provide mobile hydraulic hose repair throughout the Portland area. No prior hydraulic experience is necessary, as paid training will be provided. In this role, you will drive a fully equipped PIRTEK service truck to customer locations, diagnose issues, construct replacement hoses, and ensure equipment is operational. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, mechanical problem-solving, assisting customers, and working autonomously in the field. The work environment is dynamic, with technicians potentially moving between diverse sites such as civil construction, municipal fleet yards, and manufacturing plants, all while making a tangible impact by reducing business downtime and maintaining productivity.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical ability and comfort working with tools.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass required background and drug screening.
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and safely work around heavy equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, fleet maintenance, construction, agriculture, heavy equipment, or industrial service is helpful—but not required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and scheduled service calls.
- Build, replace, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses.
- Work on construction equipment, trucks, machinery, agricultural equipment, and other commercial equipment.
- Provide friendly, dependable service to customers.
- Maintain your service truck, tools, parts, and inventory.
- Complete basic work orders and service records.
- Look for additional ways PIRTEK can help each customer.
- Follow company and jobsite safety procedures.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule that includes some nights, weekends, and holidays.
