About The Position

Optimum RV is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile RV Service Technician to join their service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing maintenance on a variety of recreational vehicles at customer locations. The technician will represent the company in the field, requiring strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and excellent customer service. The position also includes conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure RVs meet quality and safety standards before delivery to customers, and documenting all work performed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • RV experience.
  • RVIA/RVDA certification or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and and software.
  • Familiarity with warranty repair processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations to perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure RVs meet quality and safety standards before delivery to customers.
  • Documenting all work performed, including parts used and labor time, in the dealership's service management system.
  • Communicating with service advisors and customers to provide detailed explanations of repairs and maintenance work.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and technical bulletins.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Willing to learn all aspects of RV repair including house repairs.
  • Current certification (RVIA/RVDA/RVTI) OR interest in completing online training courses for RVIA certification.
