As a Reefer Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks on refrigerated trailers (reefers) to ensure they are safe, efficient, and roadworthy. Your primary duties will include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, repairing or replacing damaged components, conducting routine inspections, and providing expert recommendations on reefer upkeep. You will work with various reefer types, including Carrier and ThermoKing, using specialized tools and equipment to perform tasks such as compressor replacements, vacuum and charging system repairs, routine maintenance and more. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key to ensuring that trailers meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in reefer repairs, a strong understanding of refrigerator systems, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
