About The Position

USADA is seeking a dedicated and driven Mobile Phlebotomist to support its mission to champion clean sport and protect athletes. This is a contracted, per-draw position that may suit an existing mobile phlebotomist looking to add work or someone seeking flexible, part-time work. The role involves collecting blood specimens from athletes at facilities and athlete homes, while following patient-identification, infection-control, confidentiality, and professionalism standards. The position requires travel to collection locations and dependable transportation.

Requirements

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Current national phlebotomy certification from an identified accredited agency: ACA, AMT, ASCP, NHA, or NCCT/MMCI, with certification dates meeting the stated agency-specific requirements; certifications issued before those dates require retaking the certifying examination.
• An applicable advanced credential such as RN, NP, or PA satisfies the national certification requirement.
• California CPT I or CPT II credentials are acceptable if they include successful completion of a national exam by one of the listed certifying bodies.
• Must comply with state-specific phlebotomy training requirements for the state of residence.
• Professional demeanor and personable manner.
• Valid driver's license with an MVR that meets criteria.
• Ability to travel to different locations for blood collections.
• Dependable transportation and flexibility.
• Obtain SafeSport Certification after offer.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and related procedures to collect athlete specimens at facilities and athlete homes.
• Use proper patient identification to avoid collection errors.
• Establish rapport with clients while maintaining professionalism.
• Enforce infection-control processes when working with equipment or athletes.
• Ensure phlebotomy supplies are stocked and organized before seeing athletes.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Travel to different locations for blood collections.
