About The Position

VIP Labs is seeking experienced Mobile Phlebotomists to provide accessible, patient-centered laboratory collection services in patients’ homes, healthcare facilities, and other approved locations. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Contractors manage their schedules and travel between appointments while providing professional specimen collection and maintaining patient comfort, safety, privacy, and accurate documentation. Compensation is $22–$25 per completed patient, as outlined in the contractor agreement. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and vehicle-related expenses, including fuel, mileage, maintenance, tolls, and parking. Company-sponsored benefits are not provided.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience.
• Strong venipuncture skills and the ability to work independently.
• Current phlebotomy certification.
• Proficiency in patient identification, specimen labeling, processing, and transport.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
• Strong time-management, navigation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use a smartphone and electronic systems for documentation and updates.
• Professional presentation and respectful patient interactions.
• Ability to travel between locations and transport necessary supplies.

Nice To Haves

• Previous mobile phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience serving geriatric, homebound, assisted-living, nursing-home, or memory-care patients is highly valued.
• Confidence with difficult venipuncture and blood-culture collection.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient locations and perform professional specimen collections, including venipuncture and specialized collections such as blood cultures.
• Manage appointment schedules, account for travel, traffic, and laboratory deadlines, and promptly address delays or other issues.
• Accurately label, process, package, and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory requirements.
• Document patient interactions, collection outcomes, and follow-up needs accurately while following HIPAA and infection-prevention protocols.
• Resolve field issues, including collection difficulties or missing information, and promptly communicate matters that remain unresolved.
• Represent VIP Labs professionally and respectfully, creating a safe and confidential service environment for patients.
• Transport necessary supplies between service locations.
