About The Position

VIP Labs is seeking experienced Mobile Phlebotomists to provide patient-centered laboratory collection services at patients’ homes, healthcare facilities, and other approved locations. This 1099 independent contractor role involves traveling between appointments, performing specimen collections, and ensuring samples are handled in accordance with laboratory requirements. Contractors manage their own schedules and are responsible for their own taxes and vehicle-related expenses. Compensation is $22–$25 per completed patient under the contractor agreement. Company-sponsored benefits are not provided.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, strong venipuncture skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Current phlebotomy certification.
• Proficiency in patient identification, specimen labeling, processing, and transport.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
• Strong time-management, navigation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use a smartphone and electronic systems for documentation and updates.
• Professional presentation and respectful patient interactions.
• Ability to travel between locations and transport necessary supplies.

Nice To Haves

• Previous mobile phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience serving geriatric, homebound, assisted-living, nursing-home, or memory-care patients.
• Confidence with difficult venipuncture and blood-culture collection.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient locations and perform specimen collections, including venipuncture and specialized collections such as blood cultures, while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
• Manage appointments and travel time to arrive punctually while accounting for traffic and laboratory deadlines; promptly address delays or other issues.
• Accurately label, process, package, and transport specimens in compliance with laboratory requirements.
• Document patient interactions, collection outcomes, and follow-up needs accurately, while following HIPAA and infection-prevention protocols.
• Resolve field issues such as collection difficulties or missing information, and promptly communicate unresolved matters.
• Represent VIP Labs professionally and respectfully, maintaining a safe and confidential service environment for patients.
