About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires a commitment to serving the needs of clients and employees to enhance organizational success.

Requirements

  • Must have undertaken Escalation and conflict resolution training.
  • Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Full G class license and Clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Be able to obtain a Reliability Security Clearance- minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada.
  • Good Computer skills especially with MS Office suite and at least Security management software.
  • Highly reliable.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • A diploma in Police Foundations.
  • Post Secondary Certificate.
  • Prior Use of Force experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property patrols of client locations, in accordance with site instructions.
  • Respond to and investigate alarm calls when dispatched.
  • Conduct Private Property Parking Enforcement at client locations, in accordance with City by-laws and site procedures.
  • Conduct ATM escort duties as required.
  • Operate company patrol vehicle in accordance with company policy and HTA regulations.
  • Enforce the Trespass to Property Act when required.
  • Liaise with Police, Fire, EMS as appropriate during incidents.
  • Complete patrol and incident reports utilizing reporting software, and paper reports as required.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
  • Be responsible for the care and upkeep of company vehicle and all assigned equipment during your shift.
  • Undertake all training assigned to you in a timely fashion.
  • Report concerns or complaints received to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Be available to adjust schedule as required to accommodate the needs of the patrol team.
  • Perform 'stand downs' at client locations to ensure continuity of guard service, as requested by supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
