About The Position

Summary: Provides efficient and safe transportation of the Mobile Medical Unit to its designated sites throughout Jefferson County while maintaining its regular maintenance and cleanliness.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Qualified driver as defined by the Policy on Training and Certification of Jefferson County Vehicle Operators
Must maintain acceptable valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B required) and complete all necessary defensive driving courses as scheduled
Must have an excellent driving record
Must maintain acceptable valid Texas Drivers License and complete all necessary defensive driving courses as scheduled
Commercial driver's license preferred and acceptable driving record
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of safety practices and basic skills in operating appropriate equipment prior to appointment
Knowledge of safe driving techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to perform routine daily maintenance checks and minor repairs to vehicle
Ability to interact effectively with other employees and the public
Knowledge of the rural areas of Jefferson County
Work requires timeliness and scheduling
Decision making within established guidelines
Driving indicates exposure to potential weather and traffic hazards
Work requires occasional walking, sitting and lifting

Responsibilities

Drives the Medical Mobile Unit to its designated stops
Maintains cleanliness and assists the nurse practitioner with patients care
Maintains the mobile unit's mechanical systems, restroom facilities
Ensures it is fueled and ready for each day
Good verbal and written communication skills with patients and coworkers
Reliable and attendance is necessary for this position to provide services to the citizens of Jefferson County
Performs other job related duties as directed
