About The Position

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Mobile Mechanic to support the operations in the Asphalt division. This position will be responsible for Diagnose and repair heavy equipment on-site, performing both emergency fixes and routine maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and safe operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years minimum experience
  • Daily travel required
  • Technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
  • Relevant certifications or training, such as in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or ASE certifications.
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery in field or shop settings.
  • Ability to work independently, often in remote locations with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly assess and fix equipment issues under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Commitment to safety, including knowledge of site safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and service vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Respond to breakdowns in the field, traveling to job sites to conduct timely repairs and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records and logs of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Operate and manage a fully equipped service truck, ensuring tools, parts, and fluids are stocked and organized.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and site protocols, using appropriate PPE and safety procedures during all tasks.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
