About The Position

Under departmental direction, conducts maintenance, repair, and overhaul of machinery and vehicles at Flory Line Construction. This position will diagnose mechanical problems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition; performs related work as required. This position will require frequent travel between sites and will be required to work in the field most of the time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • 3+ years of experience with heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic repair - required
  • Valid CDL Class A license with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Knowledge of utility construction equipment, including bucket/digger trucks.
  • Knowledge of systems and heavy equipment repair practices, methods, techniques.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and administrative regulations plus policies and procedures related to this field.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and related software programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, repair manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, and supervision.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • associates degree or certification in related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance and major repairs on utility line construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and low voltage electrical issues.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection logs, and parts inventories.
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Respond to emergency mechanical needs during storm restoration and critical outages.
  • Test machinery after repair to ensure proper working order and make finishing adjustments.
  • Commitment to safe work practices in all conditions.
  • Understands that department needs can change quickly and maintains flexibility to complete work.
  • Will be required to travel frequently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
