The company is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to join its Underground Mobile Maintenance Team in Voisey’s Bay, Labrador. This is a permanent, on-site, fly-in fly-out position requiring relocation to Newfoundland & Labrador, operating on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational schedule. The supervisor will be responsible for the safe and effective supervision, planning, and execution of mobile equipment servicing and repair, leading a team of Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians, Maintenance Assistants, Machinists, and Welders.

Requirements

An Interprovincial Red Seal and college diploma in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck & Transport Mechanic, Automotive Service Technician, or another applicable mobile trade is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Mobile Maintenance environment.
Experience and detailed knowledge of heavy, medium, and light vehicle maintenance and repair in a mining environment.
Experience and knowledge of open pit and underground mining operations.
Experience with SAP.
Knowledge of cost and budget processes.
Knowledge of professional discipline or related process and people issues.
Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively supervise, prioritize and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) risks

Responsibilities

Lead the safe, efficient maintenance and repair of Voisey’s Bay’s underground mobile equipment fleet, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and operational reliability.
Supervise, schedule, and support a diverse maintenance team (Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians, Maintenance Assistants, Machinists, and Welders) to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
Oversee troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of heavy and light mobile equipment in compliance with all safety, environmental, and technical standards.
Provide technical expertise and hands-on leadership during complex maintenance activities, fostering continuous improvement and skills development.
Champion a strong safety culture through active engagement, daily meetings, incident investigations, and strict adherence to policies and regulations.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair activities with planning teams and manage maintenance contractors to ensure alignment with Vale’s standards and production goals.
Address personnel matters, maintain accurate maintenance and incident records, and contribute to operational efficiency, cost control, and environmental compliance initiatives.
