About The Position

Northern Star (Pogo) LLC has an opportunity for a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic at our Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp schedule. The Mobile Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance General Foreman, with a primary role of maintaining underground mobile and associated ancillary equipment. All maintenance activities undertaken are to be done in a timely and cost-effective manner whilst adhering to Company standards, policies and procedures. This is to minimise downtime and to ensure targeted machine reliability is achieved between planned maintenance tasks within the Operations.

Requirements

2-5 years practical experience as a mechanical tradesperson in heavy mining application.
Excellent fault-finding skill and ability to carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance.
Computer literacy Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar CMMS.
Good communication skills.
Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.
Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.

Responsibilities

Undertake diagnostic, breakdowns, follow-up work, PM's to a high standard of execution, all work completed in a safe and timely manner.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and contractors.
Provide technical advice and support to fellow Maintenance Team members.
Ensures workmanship through meeting standards and tolerances and testing of equipment prior to handover.
Identify correct parts and equipment for all planned and unplanned jobs as necessary.
Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
