About The Position

The Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Access & Field Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in expanding access to healthcare across South Carolina by ensuring the seamless delivery of mobile screening services. This multifaceted position combines transportation, equipment oversight, patient engagement, community outreach, and operational leadership to strengthen the impact and sustainability of the MHU program. Under the supervision of the MUSC Orangeburg Breast Health Center Operations Manager, the Coordinator oversees daily MHU field operations and logistics, including travel coordination, scheduling, patient registration, and vehicle maintenance. Beyond logistics, the Coordinator serves as a frontline community ambassador—assisting in patient education, building partnerships, and identifying opportunities for program growth in underserved areas. This is a mission-driven role for a professional passionate about connecting people to care while ensuring operational excellence and advancing long-term program strategy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • At least 2 years of experience operating large vehicles
  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare, patient intake, community outreach, or public health programs
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to serve as both educator and community liaison
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency with data entry, record management, and basic reporting tools

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, public health, or related field
  • Knowledge of health screening processes, medical terminology, or EHR systems
  • Familiarity with program development, partnership-building, or grant-supported initiatives
  • Mechanical aptitude or prior experience managing vehicle maintenance
