About The Position

Community Health Service, Inc (CHSI) is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farm workers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded its services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Our services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are underinsured or uninsured. We also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, and two victim advocacy program centers. We are searching for a Per diem Mobile Health Dental Assistant to join our Moorhead, MN team. This is a per diem position with a flexible schedule based on mobile health operations and community need. Work is performed exclusively in mobile unit and community-based settings. Hours may include daytime mobile clinic coverage, outreach activities, and occasional evening, after-hours, and weekend events as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Certification for other duties as required by the state practice act
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training as required by law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of all company policies and rules

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Eagle soft is preferred but not required
  • Certified in MN or graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
  • Versed in Eagle Soft is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in mobile health missions and community-based outreach activities on an as-needed basis to support the communities served by Community Health Service Inc.
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Provides patients with oral hygiene education and post-procedure care instructions in mobile and community-based settings.
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Supports patient flow, registration, and care coordination during mobile dental clinic operations and outreach events.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
