About The Position

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Mobile Fleet Technician Lead to join our team! This role requires regular travel between Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Elizabeth City, and Garner. We are jointly owned by Suntory and PepsiCo. Suntory is a family-owned business founded in Japan more than 125 years ago that is known globally for their beverages and innovative spirit. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) ASE certifications or more than ten (10) years of relevant fleet maintenance experience.
  • Valid CDL Class A license required.
  • Brake certification required.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and propane fuel systems.
  • Diagnose and repair air, hydraulic, and electric brake systems.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle HVAC systems.
  • Electrical systems testing, diagnostics, and repair.
  • General vehicle diagnostics and onboard diagnostic troubleshooting.
  • Onboard diagnostics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Battery-powered industrial equipment diagnostics and repair.
  • Hydraulic systems diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate and drive vehicles safely.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to perform and oversee physically and mentally demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a personal set of mechanical tools appropriate to experience level and support team productivity.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership by guiding, coaching, and supporting fleet technicians to ensure high performance and team development.
  • Support and participate in work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions year-round.
  • Ensure high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all maintenance, repair, and documentation activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with technicians, vendors, and leadership, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet and uphold all company driving qualifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain flexibility to work scheduled hours and adjust based on operational needs, staffing, or emergencies.
  • Successfully obtain and maintain a valid DOT physical in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Hold and maintain a current CDL Class A license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet equipment across multiple locations.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on fleet equipment in both shop and field environments, including road call support.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting fault codes and mechanical issues in the field.
  • Operate and drive PBV fleet equipment as required; must maintain CDL A licensure.
  • Provide on-site leadership, training, and support to technicians to strengthen team capability and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, and vendors; utilize systems including Excel, Word, Outlook, and diagnostic software.
  • Document repairs, parts usage, and service details accurately in fleet maintenance systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor workload across locations, prioritizing mobile service needs and technician assignments.
  • Report daily to management on fleet status, service activities, and operational updates.
  • Manage multiple priorities across locations while maintaining focus on safety, efficiency, and operational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
