About The Position
Gibbs Truck Centers is seeking a highly experienced Mobile Fleet Mechanic for their Santa Maria branch. This role involves performing Journeyman-level repairs and services on heavy-duty engines and Class 5/6/7/8 commercial trucks. The mechanic will be responsible for a wide range of component services including complete engine overhauls, motor swaps, transmissions, computer diagnostics, HVAC, air brakes, fuel systems, EGR, exhaust systems, electrical, and brake system repairs. The company has a strong track record of customer service and dealer excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years heavy Diesel experience
- Exceptional Efficiency, Productivity & Proficiency above 90% on jobs
- Highest level diagnostic & troubleshooting abilities
- ASE Certified
- OEM factory training
- Welding
- Fully efficient on electrical repairs
- Knowledge of Cummins, Detroit, International, Isuzu, Military & Bus
- Exceptional teamwork and leadership
- Former or Current Mobile Independent Repair Journeyman

Responsibilities
- Perform Journeyman level repairs and services of heavy-duty engines.
- Service and maintain components such as complete engines overhauls, motor swaps, transmissions.
- Perform computer hook-ups, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
- Conduct repairs on HVAC, airbrakes, fuel systems, EGR, exhaust systems, electrical, and brake systems.
- Handle warranty-submittal and case project communications.
- Perform mobile fleet repairs.
