The Mobile Field Service Technician provides on-site service and repair for customer equipment, taking ownership of a designated territory while delivering exceptional customer support. Working independently, this role uses advanced diagnostic and precision agriculture technology to troubleshoot equipment issues, minimize downtime, and help customers stay productive. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience performing service repairs.
- Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty.
- Proficient with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Proficiency with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Nice To Haves
- John Deere Service Technician certification is preferred.
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Forklift license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment and technology in the field.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of parts kept in stock on the service vehicle.
- Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities within your area of responsibility.
- Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
- Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders, ensuring timely submission of information.
- Participate in Service Training programs for skills and knowledge development.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Stay current on knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
