About The Position

Requirements

Mobile Equipment Operator 1: No experience or training is required.
Mobile Equipment Operator 2: One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
A satisfactory pre-employment background check is required for hire.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to transport, load, unload, and store supplies and equipment.
Operate and maintain front-end loaders, box blade attachments, field tractors, and lawn equipment; perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs and clean equipment.
Operate commercial mowers and handheld power equipment, including weed-eaters, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and pressure washers, as applicable to the assigned level.
Use tractors or golf carts to collect trash from campus buildings and take it to the designated dumpster.
Use a golf cart to collect campus mail and deliver it to departments as needed.
Perform mechanical work on Facility Services equipment and fleet vehicles, including inspections and oil changes, as assigned to the Mobile Equipment Operator 1 role.
Operate university trucks with trailers to haul materials, equipment, and supplies on and off campus.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
For Mobile Equipment Operator 1, operate equipment such as field tractors up to and including 52 horsepower, dump trucks rated at six yards or less, and other equipment specified for that level.
For Mobile Equipment Operator 2, operate equipment such as field tractors over 52 horsepower and other equipment specified for that level.
Make minor equipment repairs and perform user maintenance needed to keep equipment in clean, good working order.
Provide guidance to and oversee lower-graded operators or laborers when required.
