About The Position

The Division of Administration/Louisiana Property Assistance Agency has a vacancy for a Mobile Equipment Operator 2. This job title has an assigned pay grade of WS-210. Employees in this role may be required to travel statewide to pick up surplus assets from state agencies. Work may involve longer than eight (8) hours per day, especially when working outside of LPAA's Headquarters in Baton Rouge. LPAA's warehouses and storage areas can have unconditioned air environments that are dusty, hot, humid in the summer, and cold and damp in the winter. Staff loads and unloads items of varying weights and dimensions into/from various types of trucks and trailers, using forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks to assist with manual labor. After loading and tagging surplus property, staff arranges and displays property for sale and assists customers with loading their purchases. The Division of Administration serves as the state government’s management arm and the hub of its financial operations, overseeing various programs and services.

Requirements

• One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. on a continuous basis.
• The MEO2 may be required to possess a valid Louisiana Class D Drivers' license.
• Must be proficient with warehouse inventory computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Operating box trucks, flat bed stake-bodied trucks, wrecker-type vehicles, cargo vans, and passenger automobiles.
• Loading, unloading, tagging, and arranging property for sale or auction; assisting customers with loading their purchases.
• When necessary, MEO2 employees can be scheduled as drivers on statewide runs and are required to perform functional supervision over the staff assigned to accompany them.
• MEO2 incumbents may regularly accompany MEO1/Heavy drivers on statewide runs to assist with labor required to load/unload trucks.
• Arranging and displaying property to sell to qualifying entities.
