About The Position

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator 1 to support campus operations. The position maintains employee areas, helps beautify the campus, and maintains employee mobile equipment and other daily equipment. The operator uses grounds-maintenance equipment and dump trucks to remove unwanted items from facilities in compliance with established guidelines. The position may also provide guidance to and oversee the work of lower-graded operators and laborers, as required, and perform other duties as assigned.

The appointment may be Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. No Civil Service test score is required to be considered. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee areas and help beautify the campus.
• Maintain employee mobile equipment and other daily equipment.
• Operate grounds-maintenance equipment, including tractors (bush hogs), gang mowers up to eight feet across, riding mowers, and push mowers.
• Operate dump trucks to haul trash, debris, aggregates, and other items and remove unwanted items from facilities in compliance with established guidelines.
• Operate forklifts with a lifting capacity over 10,000 lbs.
• Provide guidance to and oversee the work of lower-graded operators and laborers, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
