About The Position

This position is part of a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Mobile Equipment Operator 2 or Mobile Equipment Operator 1/Heavy. The Mobile Equipment Operator positions are a valuable part of the Red River, Atchafalaya & Bayou Boeuf Levee District because of their function of work to operate equipment and perform incidental repair, levee board projects and other construction tasks. Assist other RRABB employees in completing levee board projects. This incumbent will work under the supervision of Levee Foreman B.

Requirements

• No experience or training is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment as the primary or regular job function, especially during the dry season Such heavy equipment includes, but is not limited to, the followingBulldozers, Tractors, Backhoes, etc.
• Operates auxiliary equipment Such auxiliary equipment includes, but is not limited to, the following Dump trucks, lawn tractors, small riding equipment, small power equipment, or any other equipment listed for lower graded operators’ positions.
• Operates other equipment enumerated for lower graded equipment operators when necessary to accomplish work objectives.
• Performs incidental repair, levee inspections, levee board projects, and other construction tasks.
• Assists other RRABB employees in completing levee board projects.
• Helps operate flood control structures and pumping stations when necessary.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment and assists with the maintenance/repair of RRABB equipment.
