About The Position

Zed is building the first AI-native, licensed neobank in the Philippines designed to democratize access to premium financial services for young professionals in global markets. The current banking system is broken, often shutting out the world’s youngest and fastest-growing consumer classes—we’re here to fix it. Our team is uniquely positioned to solve this. We are Stanford engineers and former YC founders who have spent our careers at the intersection of banking and hyper-growth startups like Square, Facebook, and Box. We’ve been here before, having previously built and exited Symple (YC W'17), a fast-growing B2B payments company. We are backed by world-class investors, including Accel, Valar, Immad Akhund (Mercury), Dalton Caldwell (Y Combinator), and Kunal Shah (Cred). The Role We’re hiring a Mobile Engineer to help build a world-class banking experience from the ground up. In your first six months, you’ll ship core features that define how millions of users interact with their finances — onboarding, transactions, credit experiences, and AI-powered workflows. We work together in person, five days a week, from our San Francisco office. As an early member of the engineering team, you’ll build shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders where speed, craft, and product quality matter deeply. This role is ideal for engineers with 3–5 years of experience who’ve trained at a strong consumer tech company or high-growth startup and want more ownership than they’d get at a large org.

Requirements

3+ years of professional mobile development experience with exceptional depth in either Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS).
You’ve shipped real product at scale and are ready for greater ownership.
Strong experience with modern mobile architecture: Android: Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, MVVM iOS: SwiftUI, Combine
A strong product instinct — you care about polish, latency, edge cases, and feel
Experience at a large consumer tech company (Meta, Google, Stripe, Square, Robinhood, etc.) or a later-stage startup where you’ve shipped at scale
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and early-stage environments

Responsibilities

Build beautiful, performant mobile experiences in Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS) — with deep expertise in at least one platform
Own features end-to-end: technical design, implementation, launch, and iteration
Partner closely with product, design, and backend to ship cohesive experiences
Raise the bar on code quality, architecture, and performance
Help shape mobile best practices as we scale
Contribute to building an AI-native banking product that simplifies complex financial workflows
