About The Position

Sequoia Connect is seeking a Mobile Engineer to build features for iHerb's iOS and Android apps, which are used by millions of customers globally. The Mobile team works on both platforms, and candidates with cross-platform experience (React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform) are highly valued, alongside native iOS and Android specialists. This role involves participating in the mobile modernization effort, contributing to app architecture improvements, and developing new platform capabilities. The engineer will write maintainable, well-tested mobile code and manage features from design to app store release, collaborating with designers and backend engineers to integrate new APIs and product experiences. Daily use of AI-assisted development tooling like Claude Code is expected for code generation, refactoring, and test automation. Contributions to cross-platform tooling and shared component libraries are also part of the role as the mobile platform evolves.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Swift/iOS and, Kotlin/Android
• Experience shipping apps to the App Store and/or Google Play.
• Understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• AI-driven SDLC (required): hands-on experience shipping production code with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor. The bar is not awareness; it is daily use in delivering real software.
• Familiarity with .NET/C#, Go, Python, Java, React, MS SQL Server, Azure or AWS.
• Full-stack awareness: comfortable contributing across layers of the stack when needed; purely single-layer specialists are not the target profile.
• Production ownership: experience owning features end-to-end from spec through deployment and ongoing operations.
• Code quality fundamentals: strong grasp of software design principles, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD.
• D3 (7+ yrs): independently delivers features with some guidance; strong fundamentals; beginning to make broader technical contributions.
• Must Claude (basic tool for working with systems development)

• Cross-platform experience with React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform is a strong plus.
• Cross-platform mobile experience with React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Contributions to internal developer tooling, golden path standards, or SDLC process improvements.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms, product catalogs, or high-traffic consumer applications.
• Experience working in distributed teams across the US, China, and Latin America.
