Requirements
- Valid CDL A Driver’s License required.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly.
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Knowledge of handheld scanning tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
- Ability to read schematics and familiarity with the process.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school preferred; or minimum of 5 years’ experience performing maintenance or mechanical ability.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Travel to company locations to perform service calls, diagnose and repair trucks and associated equipment.
- Change and repair tires according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform oil and filter services on automobiles, concrete trucks, tractor-trailers, and various types of equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems, ranging from auxiliary components such as lighting and switches to complex 12V and 24V primary electrical architectures on fleet trucks.
- Assess power and hydraulic systems to verify proper operation in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Complete lubrication and greasing of all wear items to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform major diagnosis and repair of gas and diesel engines.
- Diagnose and repair fuel injection, transmission, and regeneration systems using laptop and scan diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose and repair universal, slip joints, support bearings on drive shafts, air and hydraulic brake systems and pressurized water systems.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Diesel Technicians I and II when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
