About The Position

As a Fleet Diesel Mechanic with Priority Towing & Recovery, Inc., you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles including trucks, buses, and specialty vehicles. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services such as oil changes, lubrication, and component replacements. You will utilize diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex engine, transmission, brake, and electrical issues, and maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and parts used in the fleet management system. Ensuring all work complies with DOT regulations and other safety standards is crucial. The position also includes participating in emergency roadside assistance for fleet vehicles when necessary and collaborating with other mechanics and fleet managers to improve efficiency and vehicle uptime.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with diesel engine maintenance and repair, with a focus on fleet management.
  • Proficient with modern diagnostic tools, understanding of electronic control systems, and familiarity with diesel engine emissions systems.
  • Must be able to lift heavy parts, work in various weather conditions, and navigate around heavy equipment safely.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues quickly and devise effective repair strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with team members, fleet managers, and occasionally with drivers.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or equivalent is highly preferred.
